GERMAN PAVILION COP 29 BAKU, NOVEMBER 2024
„A very special project for gtp2: for the first time in Baku, and for the second time for Germany at a COP (after COP 28 in Dubai 2023), in cooperation with the agency Jakobs Medien Berlin, who took care of content, technology, graphics and web placements.”
On a very tight space, a corner stand was designed with simple means, which on the one hand was to optimize communication inside for stage presentations and on the other hand to create a certain free-flow ambience.
The space was open and accessible, with seating s well as a laptop and coffee bar. Backstage, a lot of technical equipment was in place to support live streaming services. The exterior façade was formed with soft curved shapes, as there were not many opportunities to make a statement, with limited construction height inside a tent hall.
With soft shapes, ideas such as circular economy, sustainability and proximity to nature, etc. was referenced. The transparent façade with a wooden trellis provided a discreet partition and the side of the auditorium / stage was additionally shielded acoustically with glass.
In the auditorium there were 45 seats under a ceiling landscape of round coloured textile sails as sound-absorbing elements. An interpreting booth for simultaneous translation was integrated backstage
