EU 2007 Meeting of EU-Agriculture Ministers in Mainz

The Informal Agricultural Ministers Meeting of EU member states was held from 20 to 22 Mai 2007 in Mainz as Germany was the holder of the presidency of the EU at the time. Under the motto “wine and culture” ministers enjoyed a programme full of variety. gtp2 was in charge of the design concept and planning of the entire session and various accompanying events, including all of the necessary graphical design right down to the official ministerial pin. The main part of the event took place in the Rheingoldhalle conference centre on the river Rhine with other events taking place in various wine estates such as a festive gala dinner for 400 guests in the Monastery Kloster Eberbach.

The Rheingoldhalle was fitted with an international press centre, a press conference room, and all the necessary infrastructure such as lounge suites for ministers and their delegations, security gates, interview studio, photo stage, offices and service facilities for interpreters and hostesses, and of course the core space, the main conference auditorium for 136 delegates seated around a round table featuring a central wheat field with real poppies. Even though well equipped, the Rheingoldhalle needed to be backed up with additional power aggregates and several outside broadcast trucks for a smooth broadcast transmission into the world.
